The Direct Support Professional (DSP) Internship Program connects service providers with interns who are ready to make a difference. Providers get help filling key positions, while interns gain valuable experience and career opportunities.
What the DSP Internship Program Does for Providers
All’s WELL Healthcare Services (All’s WELL) is contracted to administer the program by recruiting and interviewing potential DSP Interns, facilitate and pay for background checks, provide interactive trainings, and make placement recommendations.
The program is designed to:
- Help providers recruit and keep quality employees
- Cover hiring costs such as background checks, health screenings, and initial training
- Give providers a chance to see interns in action before making a job offer
The DSP Internship Program is a win-win. Don’t just take it from us– read below about what’s worked for other service providers around California.
Success Story: UCP of Stanislaus County
Chris Martin, Executive Director of UCP of Stanislaus County, described the program as “a game-changer”. He identified its benefits:
- Access to engaged candidates: Interns are genuinely interested in the work and often become valued employees.
- Zero cost to providers: It covers background checks, health screenings, and initial training before placement.
- Smooth process: Providers can observe interns in real-world settings before hiring. If an intern isn’t the right fit, All’s WELL helps make an easy transition.
“We highly recommend participating—it’s been a great opportunity to grow our team with dedicated, passionate individuals,” said Chris.

- High-quality candidates: “We’ve welcomed 5 interns, hired 3, and the other 2 received job offers elsewhere during their internships—proof of the caliber of candidates in this program.”
- Organic team growth: Hired interns referred family and friends, expanding the team naturally.
- Excellent communication: “We let All’s WELL know the kind of employees we need—and they consistently deliver.”
